Last Thursday, The Stroke Therapy Team, currently based on Ward 7 at CRH, held their first training session in what will become their new rehabilitation space in The Old Chapel.
And in the last week all their new chairs were delivered so that the team could hold their fire and manual handling training.
The Old Chapel has retained many of it's original features, and been converted into a bright, more accessible space for the team to provide rehabilitation to their patients. Ahead of the service moving to the Old Chapel in coming weeks, new power assisted wheelchairs will also arrive, making it easier for their patients to get to the space.
Therapy Rehabilitation Assistant, Natalie Payne, said: “I like the light new gym and think it is a brilliant environment for our patients who need rehabilitation."
The conversion of The Old Chapel is part of the Foundations for our Future programme, which is our long-term vision to transform our services in Calderdale and Huddersfield.
