We’re just a week into our CHuFT Awards nominations period, and we have picked our first lucky Golden Ticket winners who will be there to celebrate at the Awards ceremony on Thursday 24th July at The Arches, Dean Clough Mills, alongside the finalists.
They include Maternity Matron, Jo Machon, and her Maternity Support Worker colleague Danielle Cunningham, who alongside our other winners, were drawn at random.
Jo said: “We are quite clearly cut from the same cloth in maternity because we both love getting dressed up and attending a good party! Neither of us have been nominated before, but I attended nine years ago as part of the judging team. The whole experience of being part of the team and then attending the event was fabulous.
“I have nominated before on many occasions, and I have also had teams who have won. I was invited to attend the last awards with one of my teams and I was on holiday, so was sad to miss out. I'll be nominating again this year and I’d urge everyone to think about the amazing work their colleagues do and nominate them on the Awards website.
“Danielle said she thought it would be good to hear about other services in the Trust and the good work they are doing. We will now have to browse the shops for our outfits!"
Our other winners include Operations Manager, Angela Farrell, who said: “I know that there is always a fantastic atmosphere at our staff awards. Seeing everyone’s hard work recognised is inspiring on the night, and the emotions of people who are finalists is so very obvious. I was lucky enough to be gifted a ticket at our last awards as a colleague couldn't attend, so I just couldn’t resist putting my name down.“
Medical Registrar, Phoebe Kasthala, said: "The CHuFT Awards are a fantastic way to celebrate the amazing work happening across the organisation. I actually won a Golden Ticket in 2022 when I nominated my colleagues on the Acute Floor at HRI, who were so kind and helpful to me when I first joined the Trust. Since then I've nominated others for an Award. This year I put two of my friends' names into the Golden Ticket draw as a surprise for the them, and included mine too - so I am shocked that I won. I'm also looking forward to nominating my excellent colleagues and all staff on Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit at CRH for a CHuFT Award."
They'll be joined by our other lucky winners:
- Sharon Stevens, HCA
- Razeenah Patel, Therapy Assistant
- Catherine Mason - Senior Sister/Charge Nurse
- Devang Chavda - Assistant Theatre Practitioner
- Lucy Middleton-Orme - Healthcare Assistant
- Pamandeep Kaur Sandhu - Sister/Charge Nurse
- Laura Bailey - Directorate Secretary
- Randolf Roldan - Ward Manager
- Sangeeta Khadka - Junior Clinical Fellow
- Ripak Purbe - Resident Doctor
