Thank you so much to every single colleague who took the time to share their feedback in the 2024 National Staff Survey.
Our Trust values reinforce our commitment to listening and responding to our colleagues’ views and experiences of working as part of #TeamCHFT. It is important to celebrate our successes, but also to understand the areas where we need to do more. We use the NHS Staff Survey results as part of our continual development as an organisation, feeding it into how we deliver compassionate care for our patients and One Culture of Care for each other.
What did colleagues say this year?
- There has been a significant improvement in the number of colleagues who had an appraisal conversation in the past 12 months
- Fewer colleagues worked unpaid over and above their contracted hours
- More of us have been given feedback on changes made after reporting an incident or near miss
- A greater number of colleagues feel we act fairly on career progression
Across the Trust we will be working on:
- Supporting your wellbeing – with a particular focus on preventing, addressing and tackling burnout
- Implementing CHFT’s new 3-year Inclusion Strategy – focussing on creating a workplace where we welcome all, we celebrate difference and a place where everyone belongs
- Further focus on development for managers and leaders – with a particular focus on compassion and One Culture of Care
- Embedding a culture of sexual safety which reflects our recently published policy – ensuring everyone is aware of how to act if concerns are raised, the reporting mechanism, communicating the prevention campaign and that each service has undertaken a local risk assessment, and how to support colleagues
We will regularly communicate progress through a You Said - We Did campaign, and work will be undertaken locally across divisions and departments.
We encourage colleagues to share experiences of working at our Trust so we can celebrate, learn and improve the ways in which we support you. If there is anything you wish to share about your experiences at work, or want to learn more about the results, you can contact odteam@cht.nhs.uk
You can read the results in full on the NHS Staff Survey Coordination Centre website NHS Staff Survey 2024 Benchmark Report.
