Six colleagues in the community healthcare division will start their degree apprenticeships later this year, as the division continues to develop its workforce.

Congratulations to Victoria Sykes and Lisa Harte, who have been successful in gaining a place on the Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship course starting in September.

Victoria, pictured, has worked for CHFT within the therapy department for more than 20 years and said: "The apprentice route has given me the opportunity to progress beyond my current role. I think it is an amazing scheme to help assistants progress and develop beyond their current role without the added financial stress. I am looking forward to embracing the challenge and to starting my career as an occupational therapist"

And Katie Boyle, Lorna Wigglesworth, Gareth Heathcote and Holly Callaghan will be joining the Physiotherapy Degree Apprentice course at Huddersfield University in September 2023.

Katie said: “I am so excited to start the physiotherapy degree apprenticeship! I'm looking forward to my placements, meeting different teams, and seeing how they all work. One of the main reasons I applied for this role was that I had the opportunity during Covid to work on the wards and worked alongside so many different nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. I learnt so many new skills, which really pushed me to become a physiotherapist “

Associate Director of Therapies, Jenny Clark, said: “We wish all our apprentices the very best of luck and value their commitment to the organisation as they complete their training.”
