We’re sure the smiles will be as broad as ever when our Pets as Therapy Dogs return to CHFT.

Colleagues who were working at CHFT back in 2019 might remember these super-cute photos of Nellie the Cavapoo with colleagues. She was our first Pets as Therapy (PAT) volunteer dog and charmed everyone who met her.

Well, the great news is that our Care Club Volunteering Service is today announcing the return of PAT (Pets as Therapy) Volunteers.

These hospital visits can aid a patient’s recovery and rehabilitation and help improve mental health and wellbeing.

And joining them will be Governor for Huddersfield Central, Robert Markless, and his cute black pooch, Daisy, below.

Visits can be provided for patients at CRH, HRI and Acre Mills. If you would like to arrange a visit, we’re asking ward managers or department leads to complete the form below, giving as much notice as possible. We’re sorry but we can’t offer same-day visits.

Charity PAT is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. Their approved dogs and their owners visit venues such as hospitals, hospices and residential homes. Read more on their website: Pets As Therapy.
