International Women's Day is on Saturday, 8th March and this year's theme is Accelerate Action. The day is an opportunity to highlight ways for all of us to accelerate action for gender equality.

An event will take place this coming Friday, 7th March between 12:30 and 13:45 in the boardroom at HRI's Learning Centre. The event is open for anyone to attend, just pop by whenever you can, a list of speakers can be found below. There will be a mixture of people who are sharing their journeys that highlight the theme of accelerate action.

The Women's Network Chair, Tegan Joseph, said: "This year's theme shows the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. Addressing the systemic barriers and biases women face, both in personal and professional environments.

"Hearing from women who have conquered this or are on their own journey is important. It's important that hurdles are shared but also that accomplishments are celebrated. We're hosting an International Women's Day event on Friday where colleagues can expect to be engaged, educated and empowered!"
