Work on Dean Clough Mill in Halifax, the new home for some of our Calderdale community services is progressing quickly, ready to move teams in from the end of April.
The ground floor and fourth floor of Bowling Mill, which is located near The Viaduct Theatre, have been transformed into a light and welcoming space for providing therapies. The ground floor will be used by our community services to provide therapies for patients, and the fourth floor will be used by the community divisions as an agile working area.
In recent weeks, services have been for walk arounds on site with fantastic feedback from colleagues.
Head Nurse for Community Division, Sarah Jayne Wilson, said: “It has been great to show staff the new space which will be a fantastic base for our teams. We have had so much positive feedback from the walkarounds and lots of excitement about being able to move into our new space.”
After April, the following services will move to Dean Clough:
- Amputee Outpatient Service
- Physiotherapy Outpatients
- Bladder and Bowel Outpatient Service
- Lymphoedema Outpatient Service
- District Nursing Hubs 4&5/Central and North
More information about dates for when services will move, and information for patients will be shared soon.
All the work to the Dean Clough space has been done in keeping with the original design and incorporates many features of the original mill building, including exposed stonework, archways and pillars. The space has been designed to make the most of the natural light which can boost mood, and improve the wellbeing and experience of patients, and our staff.
The move to Dean Clough supports the Foundations for our Future programme, which is our long-term vision to transform our services in Calderdale and Huddersfield.
