There were smiles all round last Tuesday, as the first training course took place at the brand-new Learning Centre at CRH.
The Resuscitation Council UK - RCUK Paediatric Immediate Life Support Course (PILS) was run by Lead Resuscitation Officer, Juliet Hendrick and Resuscitation Officer, Kellie Hemingway in their new dedicated training space.
Juliette, pictured back left, said: “It’s a great space for training and will be hugely beneficial to both us and our trainees.
“We didn’t have our own training room in the old Learning Centre, and we had very limited storage, so for us it’s a win, win situation. There is also a much larger lift for the times we need to move to a different training room.
"We will also benefit from larger rooms to offer increased capacity on courses such as the one being delivered today, and have the great benefit of much of the equipment being already set up in our room, reducing this time-consuming element of training.
“The whole space is brighter and more spacious, with better technology. Our trainees will be much more comfortable too with the efficient heating and cooling – something we didn’t have at the old centre!
The attendees agreed, with many saying the space was “brighter, more open and welcoming.”
Our Medical Education team are in the process of updating their intranet pages with all the information about the rooms. In the meantime you can contact them to book a space at the new Learning Centre by emailing learningdevelopment.centre@cht.nhs.uk
