Senior Dispensing Assistant, Jamie Whiteley, is doing a charity skydive next month to raise money for Andy's Man Club and to raise awareness about men's mental health. This will be Jamie's first skydive which he describes as a once in a lifetime experience.
Male suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50. Charities like Andy's Man Club aim to help stop this by running free peer-to-peer support groups across the UK.
Jamie is raising money for Andy's Man Club in memory of the friends and family he has lost himself. He said: "Over the last ten years I have experienced loss of friends and family members to male suicide. In memory of those I have lost, and to help ensure no one else has to experience the horrific pain of losing someone in this way, I'm raising money for the amazing charity Andy's Man Club.
"By doing a skydive, I'm hoping to promote men's mental health and help demolish the stigma surrounding it and the fear that men are weaker or 'less of a man' if they show their emotions."
Jamie is almost halfway to his £1,000 fundraising target and will be completing his skydive taking place on the 2nd March. You can find his fundraising page here.
