Thank you to our teams and services who are in the process of signing off the drawings for the new ED and additional wards at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Representatives from a wide range of teams and services, including clinical, support and estates colleagues, have been attending workshops in the Immersive Suite to develop the designs for the individual rooms. Last week, those representatives have started to sign off the designs that have come out of those discussions.
Feedback on the designs services has been positive. Vanessa Dickinson, Head Nurse, Medical Division, said “I think we have designed a great place for patients and staff” and Louise Riby, Head Nurse, Families and Specialist Services, said: “We are really shaping a service fit for the future”.
More detailed mechanical and engineering plans will be developed ahead of final sign off.
The new clinical building at CRH will include a new ED with a dedicated children’s ED department and additional wards. It is part of the Foundations for our Future programme, which is our long-term vision to transform our services in Calderdale and Huddersfield.
