Our lifts play a vital role in the daily transportation of inpatients, delivery of meal trolleys, movement of equipment and for people who struggle to or cannot use the stairs. The lifts can get easily congested, especially around busy times like lunch.
Freeing up our lifts for porters and patients will really help ease the pressure. If you are able, please take the stairs instead.
Deputy Director of Operations, Sarah Rothery, said: "Using our lifts appropriately helps keep them available for those people who need them most. It also helps with patient flow by supporting the timely movement of patients around our hospital. If you can take the stairs, please do so to help prioritise the availability of lifts for those who need them most."
