When the fish tank filter in the Children's Clinic at Acre Mills stopped working last Thursday, the team knew they needed an expert to help keep their long-serving resident catfish, Moby, safe and well over the holiday.
After seven hours of colleagues on shift trying to fix the problem, they resorted to calling on Moby's 'guardian angel', Children's Audiology Practitioner, Jenny Boswell, to help.
Clinical Nurse Manager for Children's Outpatients, Katie Booth, said: "Jenny was on leave with her children but she dashed to Moby's rescue, bringing son Fraser along too.
"She tirelessly tried to fix Moby's filter with some special assistance from Graham, who was the dad of a patient and thankfully Moby's filter was fixed for the extended bank holiday weekend.
"Jenny always looks after Moby. She is his biggest advocate in the Trust. Even though she left the department, she continues to care for him none the less and often in her own time - like last week. She said 'she wouldn't have slept all weekend if she hadn't have come in and sorted it'.
"Moby is one of the longest serving residents of Children's Clinic - we think he has 32 years service, and Jenny and the team feel very protective of him."
Extra special thanks to Graham and Jenny for going the extra mile for the team - and Moby - last week.
