That was the verdict of the President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng.), Professor Neil Mortensen, who visited us as part of a planned series of events to tour the country.
He was invited to come to CHFT by Surgeon Arin Saha, who is also the RCS Regional Director for Yorkshire and the Humber.
The afternoon started with a series of presentations about the Trust, how workforce supports our doctors and the extended surgical team featuring the role of the Physician Associates and Advance Clinical Practitioners.
The party then toured SDEC, the Urology Diagnostics unit, Day Surgery and the new A&E building. Arin said it was very much a two-way event. “It gives us a chance to celebrate what CHFT is proud of and for the RCS to share their ideas with us. There’s a lot happening at this Trust and a lot happening at the RCS.”
